In this enlightening, engaging, and empowering session, Dr. Joelle Hood will review the research and explore powerful practices on how our brains best absorb and retain information. Participants will walk away with activities, interventions, and structures that they can use immediately in their classrooms to engage, empower, and enhance student growth and make learning stick. We know that social and emotional factors are NOT separate from academic learning. This virtual workshop will explore the research on how to ignite and cultivate optimum environments for learning. Participants will utilize “brain rules” to become more effective learners, educators, and leaders. Utilizing these science-based strategies can enhance teaching practices, lessons, student engagement, learning and achievement. Dr. Hood is the Executive Operating Officer of Thriving YOUniversity. She has been a Teacher of the Year, Principal of the Year and National Presenter. For additional information, contact Carol Douglas at cdouglas@wresa.org
