WRESA is excited to offer the North Carolina, standards based Project Glad Tier I training and certification. In this rigorous professional development model, participants will

 

  • Gain a better understanding of English language development.

  • Acquire research based instructional strategies to meet the cognitive, linguistic, and emotional needs of all students.

  • Grasp knowledge on how to integrate content and English Language Development standards for differentiated core instruction.

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

  • K – 8 Classroom Teachers

  • K-12 ESL Teachers

  • Dual Language Teachers

  • EC Teachers

There are two components to GLAD training. Component 1 is the Research and Theory portion and component 2 is the Demonstration portion. Component 1 is either two full days or four half days while component 2 is four days with each day consisting of a half day of demonstration/discussion and a half day of planning.

 Research and Theory (Part 1):  

  • Sept. 25, Oct 2, Oct. 9  and Oct. 16, 2021   ( 4 Half Days)
  • 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Location:  Virtual 

Classroom Demonstration (Part 2)

  • March  1 – 4, 2022  (4 full Days with half observing and half planning)
  • 8:00am – 3:30pm

PROJECT GLAD CERTIFIED TRAINERS

 COST PER PARTICIPANT

  • $650 for North Carolina Districts  (This price is due to the support of NCDPI)
  • $1,025 for Non-North Carolina Districts
