10/1/18- Citizen Science

Date: October 1, 2018

Cost: free

Citizen Science allows you and your students to participate in current research on various topics. The most exciting part for your students is that we don’t know the answers to the research questions; they are discovering the answers as they complete the projects. This session will introduce you to four current Citizen Science projects and you will leave the session with a plan to incorporate them in your classroom. You will actually participate in these projects during the session. Your instructors will be teachers who are Kenan Fellows from NC who have created the projects and have run it in their classrooms. The projects include connections to the objectives in the NC curriculum for Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This will be a day of exploration and hands-on activities. Contact hours: 5
