WRESA is excited to offer the North Carolina, standards based Project Glad Tier I training and certification. In this rigorous professional development model, participants will

• Gain a better understanding of English language development.

• Acquire research based instructional strategies to meet the cognitive, linguistic, and emotional needs of all students.

• Grasp knowledge on how to integrate content and English Language Development standards for differentiated core instruction.

WHO IS IT FOR?

• K – 8 Classroom Teachers

• K-12 ESL Teachers

• Dual Language Teachers

• EC Teachers

There are two components to GLAD training. Component I is the Research and Theory portion and component II is the Demonstration portion. Component I is two full days while Component II is four full days.

OCDE Project GLAD 2023 Session:

Includes: 6 Full days of training and a training manual

Type:    Face-to-Face   (All Sessions)
Time:    8:30am-3:30pm  (All Sessions)

Fee:      $650.00 WRESA Members (Includes a Training Manual)
         $1025.00 Non-Members   (Includes a Training Manual)

Credit:  40 Contact Hours - Must Attend all 6 days to receive credit

There are two components to GLAD training: You must complete Component I and Component II training to receive full credit. Choose dates from each Component below:

*Component I: Research and Theory  (This is a 2- day requirement)

When you register, you will choose one of the following options for the 2-day event:

1. March 23rd and 24th at Henderson County Public Schools,    OR
2. April 3rd and 4th at Henderson County Public Schools

 * Component II: Classroom Demonstrations  (This is a 4-day requirement)

When you register, you will choose one of the following options for the 4-day event.  Please choose the grade level closest to the grade level you teach:

1. April 17th-20th – Henderson County Schools at Flat Rock Middle School    OR
2. April 24th-27th – Henderson County Schools at Clear Creek Elementary School
