Description:
In this course, Mrs. Nichols, principal, and Lesa Coates, Instructional Coach, will share their
school’s systems for leading PLCs through a goal setting process based on student data.
During the first part of the day, participants will learn about data analysis protocols as well as
how goal-setting and goal-tracking can affect student outcomes. We will address how these
different systems should support PLC student learning goals: formative assessments, data
collection systems, strong professional learning communities, and systems of accountability.
School leaders will understand how common goals and sustained effort to reach them can lead
to higher levels of collective efficacy. During the second part of the day, participants will use
time to work together to build a timeline and system of implementation for their school by
creating a presentation and planning for teacher PLC support during mid-year data dives.
