In an increasingly digital world, we are inundated with media and information. Through literacy tools and activities, learn how to help students navigate and utilize digital literacy to understand grade-related science topics and expand their critical thinking skills. Participants will explore author and personal bias as well as common scientific misconceptions. Take home templates and protocols to assist in guiding these conversations with students. Learn how to strengthen understanding of grades 5-12 science standards by weaving together hands-on lessons, problem-solving, and curriculum designed by the National Center for Science Education. If you have questions about the workshop, contact Michelle Benigno (828-206-3014 / mtbenign@ncsu.edu).
