July 22, 2026: This one-day session focuses on teachers/administrators who have taught 0 – 30 years and want assistance with critical retirement information and decision making before they retire. This session will review the implications and repercussions of early-mid career decisions, laws, policies and processes, benefit options and investment plans. Whether you are just starting your career or close to the end- you will learn how to maximize your benefits and be ready to make better decisions for the future.
July 23, 2026: School safety is built on strong relationships, shared understanding, and a commitment to working together. In this session, school administrators and School Resource Officers (SROs) will explore strategies for building effective partnerships that foster trust, improve communication, and create a unified approach to supporting students and staff.
July 23, 2026: Come spend the morning learning about the National Board process for new candidates. Lynn Carter, our own NBCT expert will go over all the details and provide you with a timeline and resources to be successful. The afternoon session will be for those NBCTs who are getting ready to renew. They will have an opportunity to discuss this process and begin thinking about the entries and accomplishments that would work best.

July 27, 2026: Completion of the edTPA is a requirement for all initially licensed teachers in North Carolina. This professional development session provides a comprehensive overview of the assessment, along with practical strategies and resources to help break the process into manageable, achievable steps. Participants will engage in an in-depth exploration of Task 1, which focuses on instructional planning, and will have dedicated time during the session to begin working on their Task 1 submission.

Sept 24, 2026: An overview of The Science of Reading and its relevancy and application in the secondary classroom. Participants will learn effective instructional strategies for both analog and digital learning environments. This program is intended for teachers in grades 6-12 and is part of a 4-day badge series for secondary literacy.
Sept 29, 2026: The work of instructional coaching is a dynamic part of school communities. Supporting coaching cultures where students are at the center is an essential part of this work. Join us at WRESA to embrace the components of student-centered coaching. We will learn coaching moves that create opportunities for professional growth, and suggestions for putting student learning at the forefront. The day will include models for co-teaching moves and providing strength-based feedback.
Sept 30, 2026: Join us as we explore strategies that allow all students to thrive and grow into successful mathematicians who ask questions, engage in math discourse, and think critically. This program is intended for teachers in grades 6 through Math I and is part of a 4-day NCCAT badge series for secondary math.
Oct 1, 2026: Through this session, educators will have the opportunity to dive deeper into their science standards, explore the Science and Engineering Practices, and promote meaningful student discourse in science. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, discover practical classroom strategies, and leave with ready-to-use resources that will help ignite curiosity and engage all learners in high-quality science learning
experiences.
Oct 5, 2026: School administrators are provided an overview of the service delivery model of co-teaching, practical tools used to give substantial support to both the general and special educators implementing co-teaching in their schools. Administrators will discuss considerations for the selection of staff and students for co-teaching, planning for implementation, scheduling, the importance of collaborative planning, the six approaches utilized in the classroom that enhance universal design for learning, and evaluation of effective co-teaching implementation.
